The SIP calculator uses the compound interest formula for periodic contributions:
M = P × [ { ( 1 + r )^n - 1 } / r ] × ( 1 + r )
- M = Amount you receive upon maturity
- P = Monthly investment amount
- r = Monthly rate of return (Annual Rate / 12 / 100)
- n = Number of payments (Years × 12)

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a SIP?
A Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) is a facility offered by mutual funds that allows investors to invest a fixed amount regularly (e.g., monthly) instead of a lump sum.
Are SIP returns guaranteed?
No, SIPs in mutual funds are subject to market risks. The expected return rate is just an estimate based on historical performance or goals.
Can I stop or change my SIP amount?
Yes, most platforms allow you to pause, stop, or increase (step-up) your SIP amount at any time without penalties.
Why is SIP better than lumpsum?
SIP helps in Rupee Cost Averaging (buying more units when prices are low and fewer when high) and instills financial discipline without needing a large initial amount.
