CGPA = Σ (Semester GPA × Semester Credits) / Σ (Semester Credits)
Percentage = CGPA × Multiplier (usually 9.5 or 10)

Example 1: Semester 1 (GPA 3.5, 15 credits), Sem 2 (GPA 3.8, 15 credits) → CGPA = 3.65
Example 2: CGPA of 8.5 × 9.5 = 80.75%

What is CGPA?

Why multiply by 9.5?

In many Indian educational boards like CBSE, the official formula to convert a 10-point CGPA to percentage is multiplying by 9.5.

What is a good CGPA?

Typically, anything above 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or above 8.0 on a 10.0 scale, is considered good.
